Peter Hermansson

Peter Hermansson (1975), Artist living in Nybro, Sweden. Hermansson works in a Swedish narrative glass tradition, and with his background in graffiti, he brings a graphically expressive style into glass. In the last 15 years, he has focused on, and developed two Swedish glass techniques, Graal and Ariel. These techniques make it possible to transfer illustrations into the glass mass and tell stories in the glass. Storytelling is a central part of Hermansson's work, and is also closely linked to a very advanced craft. Hermansson debuted in 2009 with the exhibition DARK TIMES at the gallery The Glassery in Stockholm, and has since had around 70 exhibitions both in Sweden and Scandinavia but also further internationally e.g. France, USA, England, Holland, China, Turkey.

Björn Friborg

Björn Friborg (danish, b. 1983) is a scandinavian glassartist whos artistic practice ranges from process based sculptural works to actual placemaking, being engaged in the development at his Trettonstudio in The Swedish kingdom of Crystal and the newly reinstituted Holmegaard Works near Copenhagen in Danmark. Educated both in the craftsmanship of glass in Sweden as well as studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation in Danmark, Friborg is respectlessly examining the material in the context of its contemporary paradigmatic skifts. Through his constant penetration of the glass body in a process based action manner, he is tortuering and abusing the historically claimed perfectness and nostalgic beauty of the material. Friborg is adressing the constant war with the material, trying to gain controll by loosing it at the same time. He is fearfully celebrating the corpus incognitus, the womb, the hole, the scar, but also the opening, the origin, the birth of something new, always balancing on the verge of collapse. Being engaged in different contemporary projects in various countries, Friborg has been exhibiting in galleries and museums in Sweden, Danmark, Norway and Britian.
